Researches have shown that in india the
transmission efficiency is such that for providing 1w at customer end 6w
needs to be produced at the grid. Means if we waste 1w at our end 6w is
wasted at grid.
So our aim is to make energy efficient designs for us and customers. Let all start a revolution of designing our energy efficient products.
Few ways are-
1: use smps at place of linear power supply.
2: improve our system power factor.
3: minimise losses.
4: use multiplexing where ever possible.
5: provide standby mode in the design.
6: make the design operated at higher frequency
7: design smps in discontinuos mode.
The cost may be higher but think how much power you would be saving for the world.
