DIY USB MP3 player

Today , we will learn to assemble and use the USB MP3 module supplied by Shenzhen Vire Silicon & Technology Co., Ltd.
If you go to market to buy a MP3 player with USB compatibility, it will cost around INR 500 or more,but assembling this kit will cost only around INR 150 and all the components including the module are available in local electronic shop near you.
The module comes with the remote also, for easy operation.

This module features
  1. USB player
  2. SD card player
  3. FM player
  4. Auxiliary input
Below are the components for the DIY project.
  1. One USB MP3 Module
  2. Two 3.5mm female jack sockets
  3. USB female cable or port
  4. IR receiver
  5. 5V regulated DC supply
Just connect the components as stated below.

USB portion connection- As i connected only the USB connection so i will be discussing about that only.
Connect the below points to the USB female connector.
  • GND-Ground
  • DP-Data Plus (+)
  • DM- Data minus (-)
  • 5V- 5V supply
Audio out, Manual switch, I R receiver portion- Connect the points as stated
  • L-Left channel  audio out
  • AG-Analog ground
  • R-Right channel audio out
  • G-Ground for IR receiver
  • IR-IR out of the IR receiver
  • 3.3V-3.3V supply for IR receiver
IR receiver pin outs- almost all the IR receivers have the below pin outs facing the receiver from front.
  1. IR
  2. Gnd
  3. Vcc
The manual switch connections are optional and can be connected using tact switches to ground
  • V+-Volume Plus
  • Mode-Mode( USB/Aux/FM)
  • V—Volume Minus
  • P-Play/Pause
5V supply portion-
Connect a regulated +5V to the point 5V and GND.
Aux in-
Connect the aux in connection as shown
  • L-Left channel  audio in
  • G-Analog ground in
  • R-Right channel audio in
FM portion-
An antenna can be connected to the point shown for the FM reception.
Just make the connections  and connect the output to any PC multimedia speaker and enjoy the music.
