Making PCB at home

Friends, today I will discuss about making PCB at home at very low cost. Since the PCB fabrication is a very important step in a project development. And if the PCB can be made at home, it will save much of time.

What you need
The items you need can be found at a local market.
1. Copper clad , you can take the cheap FR1 for your projects
2. FeCl3 solution, this will be in the power form. Just add the water to a half tea spoon in a plastic or glass vessel to make the solution
3. Glossy photo paper
4. PCB drill machine, you can use the PCB hand drill machine also.
5. Normal cloth iron
6. PC with PCB design software
Now just follow the steps listed below
1. Design your PCB on any PCB designing software like orcad, protel, eagle etc, and take the printout of the PCB on a glossy photo paper, as it is best suited for this application.
2. Cut your copper clad and clean it gently with kitchen scotch
3. After taking the print out, cut your PCB portion from that.
4. Put the printout over the copper clad piece, with the printed portion facing the copper portion.

5. Now cover this with a plane paper.
6. Switch on your cloth iron to the maximum level.
7. Once heated to the maximum, put the hot cloth iron on the copper clad for minimum 5 minutes.
8. Now soak the covered copper clad in to a water pot, so that the extra paper may be easily wiped out.
9. Clean the extra paper so that only the dark black lines of circuits are there on copper clad.
